Miss Chief and Maxine both kidded on Thuesday the 6th.

Maxine gave birth to a boy (Maxwell House) and girl (Nite Spot) at 11am and Miss Chief had one big girl (Lo Key) at 10 pm. Everyone is doing great.

The most amazing thing is that Miss Chief’s mother, Trouble, assisted in Miss Chief’s delivery by comforting her daughter and helped clean the baby off. We had retired Trouble from kidding last year (at age 10) after the birth of Miss Chief. She has continues to nurse her daughter and Miss Chief even took a couple sucks from her mom when she, herself was in labor. Now Trouble, has started coming back into milk and I am milking her. We have not seen her nurse her granddaughter, but she love her and watches out for her. It’s wonderful to see such a close three generation family.

Mothers get walked all over sometimes….

Mom, Ovaltinaweena, puts of with her daughter, Zinnia, walking all over her.

I have also been extremely busy, as usual. But I have fianlly found a bit of time to post up that Bee Bee kidded on Tuesday morning the 25th at 11am. She had to extremely good looking boys who we are calling: CC Rider and Derrik Domino (DD for short).  These boys would definitely make someone a wonderful herd sire!

The kids were both presented head first, but we got them our without much problem. Sunbeam is a first time mother and adored her new babies, twin boys: Kafka and Kamoo.

The Manning family came to pick up a couple goats today and I could not resist taking photos of their daughter as she enjoyed the goatbabies.  Amandapanda was extremely patient about being picked up and carried all about.

She was quite comfortable on my neck and relaxed there for at least 15 minutes even as I moved around.  In the back is Maxine, and to the right, Zinnia is looking up at me.

Now the story continues ….

At three years old, Candace is the size of our yearling does. She weights under 100 pounds, but is one tough cookie and stands by her somewhat dim mom and is a very good, and caring mother to her kids.

Candace was the smallest goat baby we have ever had born here.
Which is why is it amazing that yesterday morning, at about 11:00 am, Candace the Tiny gave birth to the largest doe kid ever born at Fias Co Farm.

Amazonia weighed at birth, 9.5 pounds. “Average” birth weight here is 6-7 pounds; Candace weighed 2 pounds.

The birth went very well. Candace acted like a real pro and with a bit of intense pulling assistance the baby girl was delivered with incident. Candace’s udder is huge and it’s good thing too since she has a huge kid to care for. She loves her new baby dearly.

Amazonia, at birth, was as big as Ovaltinweena’s kids who were a week old. She was almost twice as big as Tiny Dancer’s kids, who were born the day before and weighed 5.5 pounds each.

Tiny Dancer is a first time mother and is doing really well.  She appreciated our assistance with the kidding and is very happy with her new babies.

From my trip to Europe in Sept, 2007

I spent one of the best days in my life in Camden Town.

I was very concerned to hear that yesterday there was a horrible fire that swept through Camden Market.

I was looking through my photos for a totally unrelated pic, and ran across this photo from last year of young Sunbeam and her brother having a great time playing.   So, with Goatbaby season almost upon us, here’s a taste of what we have to look forward to

I can never resist taking photographs of photographers… it’s just a thing about me.

This was taken at the Bridge from Michigan to Canada in Port Huron, MI on a trip I made up there to join the Michigan MINI Club in an event called “MINIs Run for the Border 07″  I have not gotten a gallery of all the photos I took during that trip, but hope to soon.

My freind Rob is about the best motorcycle rider you will ever know, but last week, he brought his car up to the Gap. I hardly recognized him not all dressed in leathers. LOL I snapped a pic of him with his car and later on, my freind Warren did I little photchop of the pic that I thought was ammusing.

Comments should now be fixed… so common everyone… comment away.

Also, I removed the Frapper Map at the bottom of this blog.  It was cool, and I really like seeing where everyone was from, but it really slowed down all the pages loading.

Finally, I am determined to post Photos for the Day on a more consistent bases, so keep checking back.  We are getting very near the start of our kidding season, so there will be many more goats photos to come.

This adorable little angel is not one of our goats, but I thought you might enjoy seeing her. She is a tiny angora goat just a week old.

I have the honor of advising and helping people them with their goats. This little one was refused by her mother and was so far gone her human mother had started to dig her grave. Happily with advice, and a bit of emotional support from me, the tiny kid pulled through and her human mother named her after me in gratitude. This is the kind of thing that makes all the work on my site, and answering the multitude of emails worthwhile.

I stayed over at Darryl’s and Lori’s this past Sunday night we we played Guitar Hero and I was introduced to another type of video game that I really dug to know end: RACING!  Darryl has a great set up for this with a special seat right in front of a HD TV.  On the chair are the peddles and a Force Feedback steering wheel.  The feeling of driving was so realist it was amazing.  I had so much fun and was laughing so hard.  It was great.

The topper was Darryl had build me my own virtual race car that looked exactly like my own car, Alfie.   Darry (aka Killboy of Killboy.com) has photographed my car countless times and knows it well.  He knew all the little details and had spent hours making my Virtual Alfie prefect.  This was so nice of him and I really cannot express how special it made me feel.   I had a blast racing and crashed at least 20 times… but was able to walk away unharmed every time.  LOL

We played Guitar Hero and various car racing games until 4 in the morning…. wow.  I never thought I would enjoy video games so much, but I sure did.  

I can’t tell you how hard it is to get a photo of a puffed up puffer fish.  I saw Biggy puffed and ran for my camera and was lucky to get this great shot.

I want to thank my mother very much for creating this file and being so nice to share it. I know she worked very hard on this. She originally made this file so she could embroider my MINI, “Alfie” an a cool “Travel vest” for me when I traveled to Europe in Sept of ‘07. She also made me a nice custom t-shirt.

Nice huh? Am I lucky or what?

I do not know anything myself about machine embroidery, so please don’t write me and ask me any questions about how to use these files.

This file was designed by my mother. The “pi” symbol has been removed in the file you can download here. This design is free for you to use for your personal use only.

You may not use this MINI design for resell.

Below you will find two embroidery files: one in .sew format (Elna/Janome) and one in .pes format (Babylock, Brother). I do not know if the .pes file will sew out OK since my mother had no way to test it. It may or may not be OK since she had to reduce the size of the image to fit the embroidery frame for that format.

Also attached is a .pdf file showing the color changes. My mother has added notes to the two white boxes to indicate what is included since the white doesn’t show up.

The car has been redesigned in red with a white hood and white stripe. Anyone doing the embroidery should be able to change the colors when the machine stops for a thread change.

There are nine thread changes (shown in the .pdf file):

1. Car body in a red horizontal fill
2. The front fender in a red vertical fill
3. The top of the car in a white horizontal fill
4. The outside mirror, hood stripe, emblem, mirror, and gas tank lid in a white vertical fill
5. The windows, tire wells, background of tire spokes and running board in a dark gray horizontal fill
6. The headlight, thingie on top of the hood near the window, and wheel spokes in a gray (silver) horizontal fill
7. The window separations in a black diagonal fill
8. The wheels in a black horizontal fill
9. The outline of the car, including door separations in a black 1.8 single line

Again, I want to thank my mother for design this pattern and apologize for it taking me so long to finally get it up on my blog.

I had really bad varicose veins, which are not only ugly, but also achy and quite painful at times. I finally saved up enough money to have the laser surgery to rectify the problem.

I amused the doctor and nurse by taking photos with my cell phone/PDA during the procedure on my left leg. HERE are photos from the surgery on on Oct. 12, 2007 with some step-by-step running commentary with each photo.

I may be crazy for sharing this personal stuff, but I find it very interesting and some people who are considering this procedure might be interested to see how it is done as well.

If you have this real health issue or you know a friend or family member who does, it is my hope that information may be of help to you in considering your treatment options.

The people at East Tennessee Vascular Center are really great, and Dr. Shahin Assadnia is the best doctor I have even dealt with. He is quite compassionate and understanding. Robin, the nurse is also extremely nice… just like everyone who works at ETVC. They have renewed my faith in doctors and the medical profession.

Just because the surgery is done with a laser does not mean it is pain free. The laser part actually did not hurt, but it was all the prep work shots and follow up that shots did.

I was given a Valium before the surgery and was quite conscious the entire time. I amused teh doctor and nurse by taking photos with my Treo cellphone/PDA during the procedure on my left leg. Below are photos from the surgery on on Oct. 12, 2007 with some step-by-step running commentary with each photo.

I saved up my pennies (lots & lots of them) and returned to have my right leg done on Jan 18, 2008. I didn’t take photos during the right leg.

I may be crazy for sharing this personal stuff, but I find it very interesting and some people who have bad varicose veins and might be considering this procedure may be interested to see how it is done as well.

I configured a new photo gallery feature and have been building a lot of new galleries. As it happens, the Sendmail feature on my web site server stopped functioning for teh last few weeks, and no one has been getting notices of me adding daily Photos and additions, but I will keep on keeping on and continue to add to this Blog anyway.
